As I promised, here you have some information about some of the most important inventions of our history.
1) Parachute, 1913
With the invention of the plane it is only natural to invent the parachute. Although the idea of the parachute has been around since the 15th century, Slovakian inventor Stefan Banic is credited with the invention of the first one widely used by the military.
2) Antibiotics, 1928
Although the ancient Chinese used antibiotics 2500 years ago, it was not identified until the 20th century. It was Scottish biologist and pharmacologist Alexander Fleming who accidentally discovered that most famous of antibiotics, penicillin.
3) Rubik's Cube, 1974
Although the earliest video game console was invented in 1948, the "Magnavox Odyssey" invented by Ralph Baer was the first commercially available video game console.
5) Radio, 1895
In 1895, a young Italian named Gugliemo Marconi invented what he called “the
wireless telegraph” while experimenting in his parents’ attic. He used radio
waves to transmit Morse code and the instrument he used became known as the
radio.
Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press. While this may not sound like a big deal at first, the printing press is often considered as the most important invention in modern times. Think about how important information is today. Without books and computers you wouldn't be able to learn, to pass on information, or to share scientific discoveries. Prior to Gutenberg inventing the printing press, making a book was a laborious process. It wasn't that hard to write a letter to one person by hand, but to create thousands of books for many people to read was nearly impossible.
SEE YOU TOMORROW!
Martha :)
